- NEC (Not Elsewhere Classified)
- Categories labelled NEC are a collection of adequately described/ specific census responses that cannot be classified within existing categories/ sub-categories. These responses are grouped together under the category that best describes the responses.
- NFD (Not Further Defined)
- Categories labelled NFD are a collection of census responses that are either inadequately described, or non-specific. These responses are grouped into a broader level of classification rather than be lost all together.
